![]() I want to see my settlement reach 500 and eventually 1000 people and I believe technically this would be possible given my current situation. This cap is the only thing really ruining an otherwise incredible game. If there's any easy fix (editing a file) or there's a mod that eliminates or at least drastically increases the artificial cap (1000 would be nice) please let me know. ![]() Shouldn't the population be free to grow assuming we clearly have Housing and enough food available to accommodate more people (i have hundreds of meat, 100 fish, usually a bunch of pulses and 100 bread at all times). I used to easily have 30 women pregnant at once and now I'm lucky to have 10 simultaneously pregnant. Is there a way to turn this off? Is there a scenario that eliminates this? Or am I imagining things. In recent years, the region of Western Europe has been struck. 8:18pm How to increase population I have a max population of 12 but i only have 9. Since the dawn of man, populations have been growing, shrinking, and migrating across borders. Unfortunately since reaching about a population of 200 my population growth appears to have capped. Dawn of Man > General Discussions > Topic Details. I now have all technologies and I built up my settlement to hold up to 350 people. ![]() This should help immensely. So first off, I love Dawn of Man. One of the better (and possibly counterintuitive) Dawn of Man tips is this: you may not want to build guard towers too early. If you build eight of them at a defensive point, odds are that you'll lose 2-4 of them to a raiding party. I have ~60 ppl and only like two poles, two totems and one of those giant monolith circle things. There's a bit of bad news in this Dawn of Man guide, though: guard towers are terribly weak. So only one person at a time can use each religious artifact? That might be my problem. Why I cannot reach a population over 250 I get enough food that decayed every year, space for nearly 400 people, 125 clothes, and almost no one is wearing unhappy face, but the human died of old age is always close to the new born every year, that I cannot raise my population, they are dumping around 220 and stop. If it is fall or winter, You must have warm clothing set to 125% - if you do not, then new people will be cold, naked, and pissed off until the work load drops low enough for them to make themselves clothing. Because of this type of loop, you need a Pole + Totem ( set) in 3-4 places ( usually where people gather). Bob will work rather than use the skull pole. When Bob wakes up, its harvest time, and work load is at 125%. The totem is free, but Bob just used the totem by the stables, and thus his "totem timer" is still on a "cool down cycle". Bob goes to the tent cluster and notices that Sally is using the skull pole. Originally posted by Mahzrael:Lets say you have a citizen, Bob. I also try to 'park' people in huts during storms, not sure if that helps though. This makes it easier to find free sledges and balances morale loss from farming. I set limits for axes/sickles/picks as low as i can (reasonably) to stretch woodcutting/mining/farming over time. If a woodcutter cuts a tree without a sledge, 3-4 people will proceed to carry logs. Also consider placing totems/poles near farming fields. Limit farming field numbers to what you actually need, since farming lowers morale. If a person has low morale and doesn`t go to Spiritual building, you should build more of those buildings and of different kinds. They will butcher an animal, pick up raw meat and eat it raw on the spot. The 2020 World Scientists Warning of a Climate Emergency stated: Economic and population growth are among the most important drivers of increases in CO2. Pay attention to half-hungry hunters going for a far hunt. ![]() See that there are no red triangles over people. Originally posted by Mike:Any tips on maintaining happiness? Keep death numbers low.
